Do not opt for the comfortable solution and shop for the first Costa del anywhere that comes along, take your time and not rush the summer holidays. Not that there is anything wrong with the countless, popular Spanish resorts that attract millions of tourists each year however sometimes you need to explore further afield to really have a memorable holiday experience. Throughout the centuries many settlers and invaders have arrived in Cyprus and its main coastal towns. Each of these kingdoms has left their mark on the country which is one of the reasons why so many people choose to head back to Cyrus year after year. The most popular Cyprus destination is Paphos, a city that is simply full of mythical promise and fascinating history.
Although exploring the history and culture of a resort is not an activity that appeals to us all there are plenty of other fantastic attractions to enjoy during you stay in Paphos. The island country of Cyprus is situated in the Mediterranean is unsurprisingly blessed with stunning golden beaches, which quickly fill up with tourists during the summer. Paphos is definitely a contender in the best beaches stakes and can offer a simple, relaxing package holiday experience if that is what you're interested in, but those that settle for this are definitely missing out. Greek mythology states that Paphos is the birth places of Aphrodite, goddess of love and beauty. Many of the locals will tell you that the love and beauty Aphrodite is visible in the city's population and the stunning scenery of the area, but why take their word for it? Just experience it for yourself.
The mouth-watering cuisine is a fantastic example of how the former settlers upon the island's cuisines are mixed together to create a unique taste. Greek and Turkish cuisine has been fused with a twist of Cypriot creativity. The cuisine alone is not enough for a lot of people choose Paphos, but it definitely helps to sway the vote! Another aspect of the city's history is Paphos Fort, which was designed by Turkish settlers in the 16th century. You will also be able to admire the Odeon, which is a Greek amphitheatre, which despite its age is still used for traditional music concerts.
Paphos is a country that tells a fascinating, historical story, but it also has all the beaches and bars that are key to harnessing the vast majority of the summer's most frequent travellers.
