Business relocation can turn a good business into a great business. The benefits of having a good location are varied and many, ranging from ease of employee access, which may lead to a happier workforce and even lead to a loss in absentee-ism to being right in the middle of a potential customer base, which can lead to a huge increase of sales, cementing the business’s success or safety depending on the companies current economic standing.

Many small businesses seem to miss out on relocating to a potential customer epicentre because they may feel that only larger companies, especially those in retail, will benefit from moving near their customers. This assertion is wrong, although a clothing retail shop may benefit more than a company that offers something specific there are plenty of reasons why a small business can benefit from a move.

The first one is access, and while I mentioned the positives of this on your workforce it may have an equal effect on potential customers. Many times I’ve seen a business go under in Manchester, a hotspot for clients, simply because they were in too awkward a position for the customers to get near. The ease of access can lead to a huge boost in clients, even if you are offering a specific service and you won’t be trying to get roaming shoppers in the store, for example if you offer window cleaning for industrial businesses.

Another reason would be to impress new customers by moving to a city and also make it more convenient, as if you hand out a business card saying you have a Birmingham office for example, may make meetings much easier for the client, helping secure that sale.

Business owners may find that the cost of relocating may seem a little restrictive but I feel that the potential return should encourage businesses to relocate now while they can. As for the hassle that may interrupt your businesses work, I’d recommend using a highly professional business relocation service who will find a way to work around your businesses needs and have you back in sales in no time.
