Dogs love to dig holes, and that's fine, as long as it is at a park and not your own back yard. No one wants an ugly yard that has been dug up entirely. If you have a garden like myself, it can be even more of a hassle. Whatever your situation, you need to get your pitbull to stop digging holes all over, so what can be done? You have come to the right place.

First, you need to recognize why canines dig holes. They do this out of boredom, as a stress reliever, as a way to release energy, or quite simply too cool off on a hot day. It's quite remarkable, one hot day I left Max out in the backyard while I went shopping. When I came back, I realized that he had dug several holes and was laying in one as came around the back to let him inside. I asked around and my veterinarian friend informed me that dogs like the feel of the cool earth against their skin. I made sure to keep him inside on a hot day.

A more common reason for having digging problems is that the dog is feeling bored. Have you been taking him out for daily walks? Have you or your family been giving him any attention? Have you been playing with him? He may be feeling bored and trying to get your attention. Take some time out of your schedule to give your pitbull some attention. After all, we all want to be given attention from time to time.

Most folks don't realize this, but pitbull's have a lot of energy, more so than other dogs. They dig holes because they are just trying to release some energy. As mentioned above, take him out for a walk, take him to a park, buy him a new toy, or teach him a new trick. It will really help you bond as canine enthusiast and man's best friend.

Pitbulls are very human oriented. They love humans and are very loyal to their masters. Make sure not to neglect your canine. You just may be busy, but the dog does not understand that, so Fido may release his frustration by digging. He doesn't know better, he is just trying to keep himself occupied. Be sure to release the energy these dogs have in a positive way. Going to a park may be as beneficial for you as it is for him. You can meet many other dog lovers, which means new friends for you and play mates for you pitbull. Find out more how to deal with your pitbull's digging problem today.
