Many students all over the world have a dream of studying abroad in top international universities. To achieve this dream large number of every year goes to various international destinations like U.K, U.S.A, Australia, Singapore and etc. India is one of the counties from where myriad number of students goes abroad for higher studies. There are number of Indian students who go abroad to countries like UK, USA, Australia and etc for their higher studies. Studies show that since last three years a large number of Indian students are going to Canada for their higher studies.

Few years back students doesn’t consider Canada as one of the best destinations to study and very few Indian students turn out to study in Canadian Universities. Most of the students opt for USA, UK and other western countries for their higher study. Since last three years the scenario has completely changed and large numbers of students are attracted towards the Canadian Universities. Stats show that more than 12,000 Indian students in 2010 went to Canada for higher studies and the number is assumed to rise up to 20,000 by the year 2011. There are many steps taken by both the governments Indian as well as Canadian that have caused increase in intake of Indian students in Canada. Some of the universities in Canada have started collaboration with Indian universities that has also a reason behind increase in number of students going to Canada. Such collaborations are result of two-way trade proposed by Canadian government for helping the students. The number of Indian students going to Canada is increasing exponentially and it is believed that very soon number of students going to Canada will out number the number of students going to Australia. Canadian government also started a student visa programs for students who wants to study in Canada which have made visa process simpler as the result number large number of students who wants to study in universities and colleges in Canada are applying under this scheme. Alongside that there are various other steps taken by Canadian mission in New Delhi. Canadian mission has collaborated with 38 other Canadian universities and created new student partner programs. These are a few steps taken by Canadian government that has propelled the number applications for study in Canada.

There are a few new changes that have been introduced by Canadian mission in application procedure. Every international student whose mother tongue is not English have to qualify IELTS examination to study in Canada. Earlier many students provide the results of English proficiency examination of other agencies. Now it is mandatory for every student to qualify this examination with a minimum of 6.5 bands. Other significant change has been made in the section of financial assets. Earlier students show various financial assets like fields, gold and other similar assets as a financial guarantee to cover their expenses in Canada. Now the norms are getting little strict and students have to provide financial guarantee from chartered Indian banks. These are a few changes that have been made.

Canada is now become one the popular destinations to study among students because of so many reasons, like world class education environment, Top universities, easy visa process, economical cost of living and ample opportunities to start career in Canada. The number of students applying to study in Canada is increasing day by day and it is assumed that number will gain more figures in up coming years.
