Portable air conditioning units are helpful for businesses that need short-term or small space cooling. Workspaces may be compromised for a number of reasons. Using a portable air conditioner will make the area more comfortable for workers and prevent damage to certain types of merchandise. They can be shifted to various areas as needed in commercial and industrial spaces.
Businesses make the best use of portable air conditioners due to compactness, portability and effective usage of electricity. Their dense size permits them to be moved into tight spaces where equipment should be cooler, but there is little room for a full-size air conditioning system. This is most common in studios, warehouses and garages. A portable air conditioner could cool down a 400-square-foot office, depending on the model. It costs less and does the job appropriately.
Businesses that have computer server room or special areas set aside for electronic equipment could make abundant use of portable air conditioners. This kind of equipment is susceptible to both overheating and moisture damage, so they must be kept in a cool and dry environment. Some portable air conditioning units include a dehumidifier that can get rid excess moisture. These include a small pan that is emptied periodically.
Some have a timer that the user can adjust as needed to run for part or all of the day. For the smaller company with a tight budget, this is more economical than revamping their air conditioning unites or installing a new HVAC system. Rather than using the device year-round, it may only be necessary to hook up during the warm summer months or during a company’s busiest time of year. There may also be space or power issues which prevent the business from using a conventional a/c.
One advantage to portable air conditioners is they are simple to set up and operate. This usually just requires removing it from the packaging, reading the owner’s manual and hooking it up. To move it to another, room, the unit can be transported by one or two people at will.
The unit is adjusted to a specific temperature and is left alone. It allows the employee to maintain a workspace at a temperature that's well-suited to him or her, rather than enduring the heat and discomfort associated with it.
Portable air conditioners are affordably priced and can help reduce merchandise problems, disgruntled employees and unnecessary business expenses.
