There are many symptoms of stress and sometimes it's very hard to recognize them. By seeking medical or other kinds of professional help, you can find out if stress if your main problem. The following are some common stress symptoms that it's good to be aware of, but you may experience stress in your own way.

Unfortunately, one of the first physiological systems to be negatively affected by stress is the digestive system, which explains the complaints of various illnesses in the stomach. When your digestive health issues persist, your first thought may be to seek medical care, which is understandable, but often the cause is uncontrolled stress. Think of this scenario: When you feel so anxious and so tense about something, your stomach seems to be filled with butterflies or you experience hyperacidity. If you are overeating to compensate for your high stress levels, you are well on your way to stomachaches, heartburns and other digestive problems, not to mention obesity. To avoid these health issues, we suggest separating your time for worrying about your problems with your time for eating. Unfortunately, stress also has a negative impact on our choices of food so much so that we choose unhealthy comfort food, say, junk foods, which provide instant gratification instead of going for the healthy choices.

Thinking clearly also become difficult when you're stressed out. When you're under pressure a great deal your thoughts race, your heart pounds, and you find it difficult to make calm decisions about almost anything. It's true that your mind is racing at times like these but because you can't concentrate properly most of your decisions are based on emotion and not logic. That's why it's a good idea to put yourself in a more relaxed state when you have something to focus on that demands your full concentration. You don't want to let stress cause you to make poor decisions or reduce the quality of your work.

Stress affects different areas of the body in different people. These symptoms are more often recognized as aches and pains in the shoulder, back, or neck muscles. Frequent neck tightness and stiffness is likely to be a sign that you hold tension in your neck. Back problems are sometimes the result of stress too even though they can be symptoms of other physical problems. If you begin to notice stress impacting a certain area of your body, try deep breathing exercises in order to minimize the pain.

You can find methods to relieve stress related symptoms no matter what kind of symptoms you experience. You may experience one or more of these symptoms or something totally unrelated. Symptoms of stress do not have to be permanent since there are so many effective stress reduction treatments and methods available.
