Embracing Every Aspect of Dance Especially the Dancing Attire

Dancing is an art form. It is also an athletic endeavor that requires commitment. That commitment includes understanding the physiology of dance and the requirements of the body to perform at its peak. It also requires the mental focus to remain true to proper rehearsal. As a performance art that is also visual, good dancers must embrace proper fitting dance wear.
Having a dance outfit that fits correctly is important as a dancer. If the outfit does not fit correctly, dancing becomes more difficult. It is harder for the dancer and the instructor to tell if the dancer’s body is maintaining the proper posture, and can become quote uncomfortable.
One of the most important things a dancer can do when buying dance wear is ensure she gets the size that fits her correctly. If the fashion dance wear does not fit correctly, it hinders dance movements. If the apparel is too small, the clothes rub against the dancer’s skin, requiring frequent adjustments that can lead to skin irritation or even infections. Conversely, if the outfit is too large, instructors cannot tell if they are maintaining the proper body positioning.
Incorrect sizing can also become a safety issue for the dancer. In items like jazz pants, if the pants are too long, they will drag on the floor, causing the dancer to trip. In items like skirts, when the skirt is too long, it can become tangled, and also cause the dancer to trip.
But proper fitting dance wear in only part of what's necessary for achieving higher levels in the dance arts. Practicing and attending classes and rehearsals are also important.
Without attending classes and rehearsals frequently and regularly, dancers will get behind the others in their group. When one dancer falls behind those in the troupe, she will become an unwanted distraction during rehearsals and perhaps at performance time. When dancers are young, this feeling of "standing out" can cause high levels of anxiety and feelings of inadequacies.
Equally important, to become successful, dancers should stretch and practice their skills daily. This will help increase the skill level and flexibility. With daily practice, dancers will become more graceful, and improve on what they can already do more quickly. Stretching also helps prevent injury. As in any activity involving body movement, cold muscles will lead to pulls and tears. In some cases, these preventable injuries can result in diminishing or ending a dancer's career.
Success awaits those who take the art seriously. That includes understanding the need for proper body preparation, appropriate and frequent practice and the proper choice of costume.
