With the improving Spring climate we are now beginning to think about our outdoor areas and getting them ready for some garden leisure time. The harsh winter weather leaves a trail of mess on what was a tranquil place for some outdoor living, but with a little bit of tender loving care the garden can be transformed just by hoeing the flower beds and discarding any rubbish from the previous year. Mow the lawn and sprinkle some lawn feed, tidy the edges and you then have the perfect blank canvas for planting this years flower beds.
Clean the terrace ready for outdoor furniture, grill and planters. Check the garden seating for damage. Does it just need a good clean down and coating with either varnish or paint, or is it beyond repair and needs replacing. Or do you feel like treating yourself and just go for some new classic patio furniture.
There are some fantastic choices of all year round fabric and designs in patio furniture now. Lounge furniture can be combined with the patio table and chairs to give you a stylish outdoor living area. Garden loungers also come in a choice of fabrics and style and can be matched with your out of doors furniture to give a continuity.
By placing some planters and wall pots filled with colourful aromatic plants, flowers or herbs onto your terrace area will draw your garden into your outdoor living area giving it a cosy homely feel.
Cooking outdoors is one of the pleasures of the summer life and with todays modern portable propane grills it could not get any easier, they are simple to use and easy to clean. No more failing to ignite the charcoal grill, black smoke, flash backs or fat splashes. Modern propane grills are lightweight, easy to store and easy to operate. The grill plates have drainage grooves to allow fat to run into a grease trap so no more burning oil splashes or flare ups and the plates are large enough to cook for the whole family in one session.
Another addition to your garden could be an above ground pool. They come in all shapes and sizes. There are inflatable pools to suit all gardens, or there is the framed pool with heavy duty liners, then you could opt for the moulded sectional pool. A larger pool can become a permanent feature in the garden by landscaping it with shrubs, bushes and fencing. The larger pools can be accessorised with steps, platforms, fencing and towel holders.
If you purchase a filter, you do not need to drain your pool. Just turn the filter on once a day for an hour and you will have clean water to bathe in. Cover the pool of a night with a tarpaulin cover, to prevent leaves, debris or wild animals. There are robotic cleaners for the bottom of the pool that will clean away any debris in an hour. The motors come with a 12 month guarantee and changeable filters.
Now it is time to put your feet up and enjoy the summer months with some garden leisure time and outdoor living.
