On average, an individual spends approximately one third of their lives sleeping. This statistic by itself should emphasise the significance of ensuring one attempts to have a decent night's sleep each night, therefore picking the perfect bed to sleep in should really be considered extremely important.
If paying a bit extra means that an individual has a decent night's sleep and looks after their body - say if they suffer from back or spine problems - then so be it, as people shouldn't simply choose whatever is the least expensive. An individual should really consider whether or not a bed will provide them with a decent amount of sleep over if it goes with all of their bedroom!
So what should one take into account when buying a bed? We hope that our bed buying tips can be of assistance - a person should really think about and take into consideration some of the factors below:
Size
The very first factor to think about is the bed's size, which can not only depend on who'll be using it, but additionally the size and shape of the room itself. A small children's bedroom might be able to squeeze in 2 single beds or might have to make way for a bunk bed instead, whilst the adults of the home might have a bedroom big enough to fit a king-size or queen-size bed rather than simply a standard double bed. For a couple purchasing a bed together, a larger bed will clearly give extra room whilst sleeping, which should aid each person to get a decent night's sleep, but it will also be more costly and use up more room in the bedroom.
Mattress
Along with pillows (which we will get to next), buying the correct mattress for one's bed is really important. Spring mattresses have a bad reputation but they are not all that lousy: open coil spring may not be as comfortable as other alternatives, such as pocket spring, where individual springs adapt to one's body shape. Latex and memory foam mattresses also adjust to the shape and contours of one's body, whilst an orthopaedic mattress should be more suited to a person who suffers from regular back problems and wants to look after their spine.
Pillows
Pillows are also very important although often overlooked. Just like with buying a mattress, a person should not simply buy whatever is available that's cheap. It is important to buy something that is suited to you, as everyone is unique - an individual who wants to support their neck should consider an orthopaedic pillow, whilst a person who is a fan of memory foam mattresses may also like a memory foam pillow to go with it. Most people would take their time looking for a good mattress, so why not take time to find the right pillows as well?
Frame
The frame should be a consideration after the size, mattress and pillows have been decided, however in some instances a mattress or pillow type (or a few options of each) may be available when buying the bed frame itself. Either way, be sure to consider other alternatives over simply going for whatever freebies are included, just in case what it comes with is cheap and nasty.
