Madrid, the capital of Spain, has a wide range of ideal activities for you and your family. Visit Madrid with kids and you won't get disappointed.
I'd like to recommend three top places to go with your children.
Faunia
This is the first place you should go in Madrid with kids. It is not a zoo, but a biological park where you will have a good time and learn about nature. You'll be able to enter and know different ecosystems and the animal and plant species living there.
There are over 4,000 animals, different plant and tree species and documentaries on nature can be seen.
There is no doubt that the main attraction of Faunia is its animals: mammals, birds and numerous fish species. You can experience nature in this park as you can see, hear and smell animals and plants in their habitats. There are different ecosystems: the Amazon jungle, the Polar ecosystem, the aviary...
The farm is kids' favourite spot because they have fun with farm animals, taking care of them and playing with them. They can even see kangaroos.
The park, in order to commemorate that 150 years ago, Charles Darwin published his study on the origin, has created a thematic area about the origin of life called Evolution.
Also, you can learn how dinosaurs lived and moved in the Jurassic pavillion.
Amusement Park Madrid
If you prefer a day on the rides, go to one of the biggest leisure areas in Spain. It is located in the Casa de Campo and offers 48 attractions for all the family. You can spend one day having fun going on the rollercoasters and the rapids, eating in a restaurant, watching a show or just going for a walk surrounded by nature.
The amusement park is divided into five large theme areas:
-
Main Avenue: have lunch in the restaurants or bars
-
Machines: the most exciting rides and rollercoasters
-
Nature: have a walk surrounded by nature
-
Relax: calm and refreshing rides
-
Kids: sixteen mini-rides for the little ones
Do you want something scary? Freddy Krueger and the girl of the exorcist are waiting for you in the old manor.
Warner Bros Park
Maybe you prefer to see Bugs Bunny and his folks.
Warner Park is in San Martin de la Vega, 25km from Madrid.
There are five theme areas:
-
Hollywood Boulevard. Main street of the park that leads you to the other areas and where you will feel like a Hollywood superstar walking along the red carpet.
-
Cartoon Village, where you will meet Bugs Bunny and his friends.
-
Old West Territory, put on your cowboy hat and you boots.
-
DC Super Heroes World, where you will live in the superheroes cities and meet you superheroes and their most dangerous enemies.
-
Warner Bros Studios, walk through the sets and stages of famous movies.
So, what do you think? Isn't Madrid a good place to go on vacations with kids?
