Dubai is an exciting to place to travel to anytime of the year, only about 20 percent of the population is native and the rest are foreigners working abroad. During summer ie May to August the temperature reaches very high. But many of the hotels in Dubai city use chillers to keep pools cool and some of the local springs and lakes are also cooled. It is too hot to go into the ocean, this is a time that you want to hang by the pool or live in the air conditioning.
This is good for the bargain savvy traveler this is not a popular time to travel and therefore many hotels in Dubai city offer lots of cheaper rates. Dubai cheap flights are available at this time also. Ramadan is one of the Dubai city holidays observed in August during this time shops and business close in observance of the holiday.
The weather should not stop you from taking a summer holiday in Dubai. There are several indoor activities available. Take a tour of the city in a wonder bus this starts out on land and then drops you off into the water, which gives you a totally different view of Dubai. If you have the cash and are not faint at heart you can take a tour of the city by helicopter.
Wild Wadi water park is a great alternative to the beach. Most of the hotels and water parks chill water to keep water temperatures down. This water park boast the tallest water slide outside of North America. You can cool while reaching speeds of over 80. Do not forget your sunscreen with temperatures approaching 109 to 113 F midday. A sunburn is inevitable without sunscreen.
Indoor skiing can really be a good away to cool off during the summer months and Dubai offers one of the Middle East's first ski resorts. Skiing, snow boarding, togo boarding, or just playing in the snow, there is something for everyone. Make sure to carry your wallet it can be an expensive outing. Lessons are offered if you do not meet their basic skill level. This would definitely be a great way to spend the day cooling off.
Dubai is a shoppers Paradise with a plethora of malls to choose from. The Mall of the Emirates is a must visit mall in Dubai. The mall is a direct reflection of the opulence and wealth of this area. This mall offers an array of shops which includes several America stores. The veteran shopper looking for bargains on perfume, textiles, spices, or gold should look no further than Dubai's Souqs When you shop here it does feel a touristy but it is a great place to find bargains. If you are interested in finding some of the local attire then Deira’s Covered Souqs is the place to purchase Indian Saris, belly dancing outfits, and Aladdin slippers.
