Most bistro sets are very easy to take care of and do not take a lot of owner responsibility. Maintaining bistro sets is easy and usually only takes a moment or two of your time.
When spring rolls around, everyone prepares for spring cleaning, and cleaning bistro sets is on top of this list. Spring gets everyone excited to be outdoors and enjoy company, and these sets are a homeowners' best patio accessory. Some people do not store their bistro sets during the winter because they are made out of durable weather proof fabric. The fabric is weather proof, but still requires a little brushing up. No one wants to sit on a dirty chair or love seat, and when these bistro sets are in their prime, you'll never want to get out of the seat.
The fabric on bistro sets is very heavy duty, and resistant to most stains and tears. They can withstand high winds, extreme temperatures and heavy wear and tear. Use a leaf blower to blow away leaves and dust off of the surface of bistro sets and surroundings. You would never use a nylon thick bristled brush to clean your living room couch, but all bistro sets are made to be easily cleaned. Use one of these brushes, along with a warm water dish washer detergent solution, to scrub away any leftover dirty areas. It is okay to use a hose or power washer (on a low setting) to thoroughly rinse the cushion of any sap or dried on animal droppings. Some bistro sets have aluminum or other metal areas, such as legs or arms, and they can be washed with a vinegar solution. Plastic bistro sets can be coated with a thin layer of car wax on all areas in order to protect and deter any damage to its surface.
Before the season begins, inspect all bistro sets for damage and repair them if necessary. Check all wooden bistro sets for problems, such as splitting wood, chipped or cracked paint, as well as mildew or mold. Sand down and refinish anything that looks questionable. This may be a good time to change the look or color of all your bistro sets to match. Make sure all wooden bistro sets have a good weather sealant on them for the upcoming summer storms and rain. Check all metal bistro sets for rust, and if there is any, sand down the furniture and repaint or coat them. If you see any bubbles or dents in the paint this could indicate that there is underlying rust and it would be a good idea to stop the problem before it spread.
Most bistro sets will rarely need any repair or refinishing, but fixing a problem before it spreads will prevent missing time outside where you want to be during the warm months. Taking a moment to clean and disinfect your furniture will make you more comfortable while using the pieces, and you'll be able to relax and enjoy the meal or company you have for the evening.
