Celebrating the birth of Sir Charles Spencer "Charlie" Chaplin, the legendary English comic actor, film director and composer, who is utterly loved for his work during the silent motion picture era; has been commemorated by search engine Google.
Celebrating 122 years of his birth, Google implement HTML 5 technology to transform their visual logo into a two and half minute Charlie Chaplin video that relays a look alike of The Little Tramp.
Digital Broadcasters Google, who are undoubtedly the globe’s preferred search engine site, are popular for their celebration of special days but have seldom endorsed a video via HTML 5 on their homepage.
On the video front, it is obviously black and white and when the video begins, Chaplin is told to move by a policeman after he is spotted reading a Google newspaper. Then Chaplin moves on to interact with an artist painting a Google logo and finally tries to dodge his way to an event without having to pay the $1 admission fee.
Moreover, the last scene dictates a plot wherein, he uses his knack to try to get to an event by drawing his own version of the Google Doodle. And eventually he does succeed in deceiving the policeman into shelling out some money, he is then in a position to skip along the pathway with his trademark cane.
Post the video finishing, the user is then directed to a Google page that portrays search results for "Charlie Chaplin". Chaplin, who was born on 16 April 1889, hailed from London and was renowned for his baggy trousers and gigantic shoes, bowler hat and a toothbrush style moustache, was featured on Google in the remake of The Tramp, a tributary video of his most famous character.
To relay some history on Google, the Google Doodle was first implemented in May 2010 to commemorate the 30th birthday of the very famous game of Pac-Man. Post which, Google induced similar techniques to celebrate Lennon’s birthday on 8 October 2010, a day earlier and a technique under which, the pioneering doodle played a 32 second clip of Imagine, a solo song that is considered as the very epitome of the singer-songwriters solo career history.
It’s been 13 years since Google has been frequently interchanging its usual logo for a Doodle, a conceptual approach to rejoice holidays, inventions, artists, sporting events and even endorsing innovative designs from contest winning students that had participated; kudos!
