The song Easter Parade by Irving Berlin not only immortalized the New York Easter Parade, but also the Easter Bonnet. Many Baby Boomers experienced wearing Easter Bonnets to church on Easter Sunday, along with frilly dresses and white gloves. One Easter Bonnet wearing Baby Boomer, Grandma came-up with a new way to not only wear the Easter Bonnet, she created a more practical, multifunctional purpose for the bonnet…called the Designer Hat Centerpiece and she made it for under $10.00.

"Not only can you display it…you can wear it!" entertainer Kathy Bee emphatically states.

Handling difficult financial situation oftentimes leads to cutting back on expenses but doesn’t have to mean eliminating opportunities to celebrate the holidays, special occasions or any other kind of gatherings.

In Kathy Bee’s quest to find alternative ways to decorate, while keeping the cost down, she believes that she has created a better mouse trap…a new multipurpose centerpiece that serves as a candy dish, and can be worn as a designer hat.

Keeping in mind that something new and different always brings excitement to celebrations and events, this colorful, festive, hat/centerpiece, worn by a mom or a grandmother, could be the catalyst for friends and family members to dialogue with each other for years to come.

One sure advantage to wearing the Designer Hat Centerpiece is that both kids and grand-kids will shut off their cell phones and IPods and immediately give you their attention…boldly inquiring…"Grandma’s got what on her head?"…As grandma gleefully pulls-out candy from her hat and observes the smiles on the faces of the kids (both big and small), when they receive their candy treats.

Kathy Bee, the middle child of seven children, who was raised in rural Ohio, learned at an early age to make-do with what you had. She often considered her mother as the "queen of stretching the dollar."

"If you really needed something, my parents always found a way to make it happen, and for that I will always be eternally grateful." says Bee.

Throughout her early years, Bee experimented with common, everyday items that could also be used for additional purposes. However her creativity really began to blossom and shine when it came to singing and songwriting.

In 2005, Kathy Bee became fascinated by the Red Hat Society members and all of their beautiful and unique hats. A seed was planted. While sailing on a Red Hat Cruise, Bee wrote a song for the group called "The Red Hat Momma" and also began secretly toying with the idea of hat designing. After a performance for the Red Hat Society Founder, Sue Ellen Cooper, in Fullerton, CA, Kathy met Hat Designer Josie Silva, Queen of the Victorian Red Hatters of Glendora, CA. During this period of time, Kathy was also hosting her Southern California Cable TV Talk Show, called Touching Lives. Ultimately, Josie became a guest on the show and shared her hat making and designing tips, while also disclosing her burning desire to create a hat making video.

Call it timing…synergy or being at the right place at the right time, Kathy & Josie joined forces and launched the Secrets To Hat Making & Designing Success DVD & Instructional Manual. The response was tremendous. Women who wanted to wear designer hats, but could not afford them, now had the means to design their own creations and at a fraction of the cost.

Josie’s DVD training also afforded Kathy Bee additional knowledge, courage and skills to begin designing her own hats. In no time, Kathy began receiving compliments from her unique designs. One evening, after a lengthy concert performance, Kathy was so exhausted that she placed one of her designer hats on her dining room table. The next morning, when she peered at the hat, the thought crossed her mind that the hat would make a great centerpiece…After many hours of research and development, plus trial and error, the Designer Hat Centerpiece became a reality.

According to Kathy Bee, when it comes to creating the Designer Hat Centerpiece, you don’t have to possess any special aptitude for crafts or hat designing. Just instantly download the instructional manual and follow along with the video. Kathy shares with you everything you need to know about creating your own Designer Hat Centerpiece including: where to find materials (for under $10.00), in 10 easy steps that only take 30 minutes.

Now Kathy Bee, the former little girl from Ohio, who slung blankets over clothes-lines, in order to make tents and who performed standing on picnic tables, has transformed a plain hat into a multifunctional, light-weight, candy dish, hat/centerpiece…The Designer Hat Centerpiece for Easter. Bee says that you can also use the same instructions for creating hat/centerpieces for: The 4th Of July, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, birthdays, showers, weddings and any occasion or event ...including fund raising events.
