When major search engines index websites, those sites with a large number of these outside links hold more weight and therefore will achieve better rank. Outside links can be produced through paid listings in directories, however the most effective manner is by generating organic or unpaid links. The method of capturing these organic links is by posting to forums, blogs, utilizing social media sites, and article submission.
