One of the most sought after neighborhoods in Charleston, I’on is known for its Charleston styled homes, its exclusive amenities, and its close proximity to downtown Charleston and the beaches. As you drive through this neighborhood, you’ll feel like you’re in historic downtown Charleston. I’on homes have all of the details that make Charleston architecture so unique – not just the double front porches and designs that so many Mt. Pleasant neighborhoods try to imitate, but also the impressive brick work, wrought iron fences, immaculately landscaped courtyards, heavy columns, metal roofed dormers, and European styled piazzas. In a neighborhood where the average home price is just under $1 million, no expense is spared in recreating the classic Charleston style that is so popular among home buyers.
Often when we talk with many home buyers, we hear that they want a Charleston styled house but not the upkeep of a hundred (or more) year old home. Or, they don’t want to live in downtown Charleston, which can become quite congested during tourist season. I’on is an ideal community for these home buyers because they can have Charleston charm along with an upscale suburban lifestyle.
When it comes to amenities, I’on has some of the most impressive ones in all of Charleston. I’on offers a zero entry swimming pool, 3 club houses (one of which is a low country style club house overlooking the marsh that is often used for parties and weddings), a fitness center, some of the best tennis facilities in Mt. Pleasant, dock facilities, a boat ramp, and a children's play park.
I’on is located off Mathis Ferry Road in the section of Mt. Pleasant that’s inside I-526 (this is the closest section to downtown Charleston). I’on is less than a 15 minute drive from downtown Charleston as well as the closest beaches, Isle of Palms and Sullivan’s Island. In this southernmost section of Mt. Pleasant, you’ll find mostly older homes. (In fact, most of Mt. Pleasant’s new construction is located past Hwy 41, which is a good 30 minutes from downtown.) I’on is one of the few new construction communities in Mt. Pleasant with this close of a proximity. So, if you know that you’ll be commuting downtown for work, rest assured that you don’t have to sacrifice good location for a new home.
If you’re looking for a newer home in Mt. Pleasant with a good location, unbeatable amenities, and classic Charleston style, be sure to talk with your Realtor about the current options in I’on!
