RC helicopters or remote controlled helicopters are very popular especially to young boys. They have become the source of happiness and entertainment to some people. It is indeed fun to fly these helicopters since you will be able to feel as if you are really the pilot who is controlling the flying machine. It is not that easy to fly this one especially if you are a beginner. There are some tips that you must keep in mind for you to learn to fly remote controlled helicopters.
Read the manual: Firstly one should read the manual given with the machine very carefully and should follow the steps in that. These manuals are very helpful as these also specify the limits and additional features of machine. These also tells the safety majors to the users.
Examine: Secondly, examine the machine fully. Take the notice of each part and its behavior and role in the architecture of machine so that while using the machine you don't get puzzled or misuse the parts to get wrong results.
Learn the basics: Then learn the basics of machine before flying it. How it works and how much it can work. What can be done with it and what is not possible with this. All the basic things has to be cleared before going for actual practice.
Practice: Last but the actual thing after all the steps have been taken is to do full practice with the machine. Give time to it and work with it as there is saying practice makes a man perfect.
Once you have gained complete control over your Remote Control and your plane, then you can think about moving on to faster planes, such as fighter or jet planes. These planes are extremely fast and require very fast reflexes, to keep them in control. Do not forget to take out insurance on any model plane or helicopter you fly, or be ready to be sued, in case of any accident, where there is damage to someone's 'limb' or 'property'. An electric motor or a gasoline engine can be used, to power your model airplane or helicopter. Use electric power, if you are a fresher. It's clean, efficient and easy to maintain. However, keep extra battery packs ready, because you will need them, while flying.
Reliability of these electric machines improves greatly when compared to the gas versions because they use electrical motors instead of nitro engines. Electric motors come much cheaper, much less tedious, and much less dirty. Unlike gas engines, electric motor almost never cuts out like an engine does. This means no more stalled engine in mid air!
Don't think for one second that electric flights won't last long. Modern RC models use Lithium Polymer batteries. These types of batteries will allow electric flights to last as long as - or longer - than gas-powered flights. Moreover, when running out of gas, nitro helicopter engines will suddenly cut out. On the other hand, their electric brothers will slowly power down, providing ample time to safely land.
The rc helicopters can give you a lot of fun and an experience of learning to fly a highly technical rc helicopter which is the latest buzz among many folks. So its fun to learn.
