If you’re an expecting mother and your date of giving birth is fast approaching, it’s crucial to complete the list of baby products that must be bought. They will help meet all your child’s needs. Remember, it’s never too early to prepare. Don’t wait until you have already given birth because by then, everyone, especially you, would barely have extra time in your hands. It will certainly not be the time to shop.
Having a list is wise before shopping for baby items. This way, you can make sure that you will only be buying the necessary. This will also prevent you from forgetting products that shouldn’t be missed and cause you to make multiple trips to the store.
If you have not prepared a list of the must-buys yet, here’s a brief guide:
Clothing—Clothes are your baby’s basic needs so they have to come first. Buy some basic clothing layette, a special "going home" outfit, snowsuit, and swimsuit (the last two only when necessary). Don’t forget to buy a hypoallergenic detergent too. The baby’s skin is very sensitive. You need to use a special soap for her laundry so she will not develop any irritation or allergies.
Feeding necessities—Even if you are breastfeeding, it is a must that you buy feeding essentials such as bottles, nipples, brushes, drying rack, sterilizer, and bibs. For breastfeeding, don’t forget to buy a nursing bra, a support pillow, pump, breast pads, and storage containers. They will all make nourishing your baby a lot more comfortable.
Nursery stuff—You also need to purchase the things for the nursery. If you have a theme for it, then always keep it in mind so you will only get the matching items. Some of the basic stuff you have to get are crib, crib bedding, mattress, dresser, baby monitor, laundry basket, toy bin, and diaper changing table.
Bathing necessities—Babies are messy so baby products for hygiene are indispensable. Don’t forget to include the following on your list: baby shampoo, wash, lotion, hooded towels, washcloths, bathtub (or insert), and nail clippers.
Stroller – Babies may look small and light, but after a long day at the mall they can feel like a small boulder. Do your research and buy and stroller that is comfortable and that will last throughout its use.
Car Seat – From the day your baby comes home, he or she should be in a car seat while being taken anywhere. Spend the extra money to get a high quality and safe car seat to protect your child. These seats aren’t always the most expensive.
Be sure to read trusted baby product reviews when purchasing baby products and baby bargains for your little one. It will save you money and grief.
