Want to know a secret that could help you get rid of extra body fat? Knowing how to blend foods properly is a key to weight loss. Foods can be categorized based on their digestive requisites. When you eat up congruous foods at the same meal, your digestive system is able to perform its job properly. Here's a simplified guide for optimum food combining.
There are 4 different food types, and each type requires different conditions for full breakdown of food. Carbohydrates, proteins, fruits, and non-starchy vegetables comprise the four categories. Protein foods include eggs, fish and shellfish, meat, milk, yogurt and cheese, soya beans, soy products and tofu, and nuts. Starchy vegetable such as potatoes, grains such as rice and oats, baked goods like bread and cake, as well as pasta are all included under carbs. Lettuce, celery, and other common salad ingredients comprise the non-starchy vegetable group.
Within the group of fruits are four sub categories: acidic, sub-acidic, sweet and melons. Figs, prunes, bananas, and dried fruits hold sufficient sugar to be classified as sweet. Pineapples, lemons, oranges, and grapefruits are the well known fruits belonging in the acidic class. The fruits referred to as sub-acidic, like apples, papayas, kiwis, peaches, and berries have less acid than citrus fruit, which is the reason they are known as sub-acidic. There are many varieties of melons, which consist the fourth category of food.
These varying types of foods require different conditions in the digestive track to fully break down and be absorbed. For Instance, high protein foods need an acidic environment to induce full break down of food, while carbohydrates require a an alkaline condition. Combining the two in one meal creates a stress on the digestion. The outcome is that neither the foods high in protein nor carbohydrates become wholly digested, and this could result to a lot of digestive problems. You may cause yourself stomach cramps or heartburn, or even worse conditions, by combining incompatible foods.
If you stick to these tips, you'll feel a lot better after each meal. At each and every meal, decide whether you will eat protein foods or carbs, but not both. Accompany either carbs or proteins with non-starchy veggies.
Fruits are best eaten alone. You may blend sub-acid fruits with either sweet-tasting or acid fruits. Always consume melons by themselves for most effective digestion.
Also, consider that the various types of food call for different periods of time to be digested in the stomach completely. Foods rich in protein are not totally digested until four hours after eating, while carbs digest fully in only two hours. So, wait at least three hours after eating a carb meal to eat foods high in protein.
Start to make alterations in your diet in a slow manner, as you become used to these new ways of consuming food. When you're committed to better health and shedding off extra weight, you'll realize these rules very helpful.
