North America has discovered this difference and, for the most part, haven't kept it much of a secret. Everyday I leave my house, I discover that the rest of North America has realized that there is indeed something different about this place.

Most people, from around North America, have discovered that difference. I witness it every day I leave my house and try to find a parking spot at the grocery store.

The weather channel girl has sung its praises every winter season for the past 30+

years that I know of, and God only knows how long before that.

I'm talking about Florida, the Sunshine State, and more specifically South Florida. Its true that the weather is the main attraction that has a magnetic pull on so many to this peninsula, but the everyday living is what keeps those people from going back after their vacation is over. I've heard of people coming down here for a three day getaway, and never go back - except to pack up their belongings. With thousands of people flocking to the Sunshine state every day, Its hard to imagine that any other place in North America can make that claim.

Living in South Florida for as long as I have, has been a fantastic and rewarding experience every step of the way. Along with the sunshine that doesn't seem to break and the beaches that have the waves breaking against it, the nightlife turns hot when the sun goes to bed. A long line of A-listers have been known to come down to South Florida and witness for themselves that second to maybe New York and Los Angeles, South Florida is a happening spot.

So, you've been hesitating on finding out what the rumor is all about due to some inclement weather that comes around a few times during the year? Since I've lived here, there has been 3 hurricanes that have swept in through the area - and although they are scary, one does understand that is a side effect for living in paradise. There is a risk of Mother Nature becoming angry all over the country - the northeast has to deal with snowstorms, the northwest has to contend with mudslides and the middle of the country has to escape the threats of tornadoes. Living in the Sunshine State does have its share of side effect.

If you plan on escaping to South Florida, you may also be intrigued regarding the different influences. Adding to the flair of South Florida are the food, drinks and the overall atmosphere that are the melting pot of this area. The music seems to get kick started down here before it reaches other parts of the country - so you know that the clubs that line popular Collins Avenue in Miami or the music clubs on Las Olas in Ft. Lauderdale are always rippin' and roarin'. Different cuisine flavors give your taste buds a trip to the tropics and the laid back island drinks complete the transition.

Adventure on both land and water awaits you from the time you wake up till the time last call is announced. Hop on a sunset cruise and witness one of South Florida's beautiful sunsets that allow for some great Kodak moments. You tend to enjoy the outdoors a little more then most? For beginners, there are more golf courses per square miles down here then in most places around the country, and that’s just the beginning of outdoor fun to be had.

People from all walks of life visit this salty piece of land. I suppose that adds to the diversity that is south Florida living. No reason is needed why there is such an influx of people that come down here and, for some, choose not to leave. Escape your cabin fever existence and pay a visit to South Florida - all you need is a few pair of shorts, t-shirts, favorite pair of flip-flops and enjoy this laid back living.
