There are a great number of sexual diseases that can harm and threaten your life. Many of them are lifelong ailments that have no cure or solution and will be the cause of many illnesses, diminished quality of life, as well as early onset of death. Things like AIDS, herpes, syphilis, gonorrhea, and a number of other diseases can be contracted during intercourse and can be spread just as fast. If you don’t know that your partner has it, you may very well get it.
Similarly, your partner may not even exhibit signs or symptoms, but may still carry it as they have been exposed. So, the first thing to do is to make sure your partner and you both get tested before you engage in any sexual behavior. If either of you have had other partners, this is even more essential and you need to make sure to see a doctor and get a complete test done so that there are no surprises. Secondly, if you do have something, be sure to share it with your potential partner before you two engage in any activity so that they know exactly what they are getting themselves into.
Getting tested is one way to make sure that you won’t contract any diseases, but you can never be too careful. Always wear protection when engaging in intimate behaviors, and make sure that you understand that protection is not total prevention. Just because you have some method of protection, that does not mean bodily fluids won’t somehow be shared and that can cause you to contract an illness.
Trying not to have multiple partners is another way to reduce your likelihood of contracting a disease. The more partners you have, the more likely it is you will get a disease and then you will spread it later on to someone else. You want to make sure you try to avoid this situation, as it is not only harmful and dangerous, but very unsafe for your health and the health of many other people involved.
Make sure you get tested, if you have had unsafe intercourse, so that you can catch it early and start a treatment plan in case you do have something. There are treatments and therapies for many things, and you can still live a fairly normal life even if you have a disease, but you still need to make sure that you get tested sooner than later so you can be sure to get it fast.
In a case like AIDS, there really is no cure and so you want to be sure to avoid that as best as you can. Be sure you get tested for AIDS, both you and your partner, as it can be a genetic passage before birth. And avoid using and sharing needles that are unclean for the transfer of blood can immediately cause you to contract the disease. You will have to go in for check ups for many months to be sure if that does occur.
