When suffering from hemorrhoids, something half of the population will some day experience, there are a lot of medications and treatments to consider. Among this array of hemorrhoids treatments are some very effective and gentle home remedies that can be tried.

These home remedies are natural, gentle, cost effective, and can all be done within the privacy of your home- thus helping to avoid an embarrassing rectal examination at your doctor’s office. Here are some of the most commonly used home remedies for hemorrhoids.

  1. Radishes: Adding radishes to your diet will greatly increase your fiber intake, which will help to alleviate many of the symptoms of hemorrhoids. Radishes are interesting as they can help you in two methods. The first is the obvious method of eating them orally. The second is a topical ointment that you can put externally on the affected area. The ointment can be made by mixing pureed radishes with a small amount of milk, or buttermilk.

  2. Mangos: Along with being high in fiber, mangos offer some interesting benefits to those suffering from hemorrhoids. By taking dehydrated mango seeds and making a powder, you can create a substance that can be taken as a tea for diuretic purposes, or can be mixed with water to make a salve for the external hemorrhoids. The mango seeds help stop bleeding.

  3. Yarrow: This is an herb that is usually made into a tea. The tea can be helpful, but in the case of hemorrhoids, yarrow is the most effective when applied directly to the rectal region. This will reduce the swelling and itchiness associated with hemorrhoids. Yarrow is available in most grocery stores, and any whole or natural foods market.

  4. Coriander Juice: Make a juice of coriander, water, and sugar, and take a small amount three times daily to help soften your stool and control bleeding.

  5. Buttermilk: Taking a full glass of buttermilk twice a day can help to get your digestive system moving and working in a way that can expedite the healing process of piles, and also keep from getting hemorrhoids again in the future. Buttermilk can also be added to many topical agents to reduce swelling and dilation in an external way.

These are just five of the many, many natural home remedies available for hemorrhoids treatment. They are gentle and effective.

It is important to remember, however, that if no change is seen while using these remedies, or if the hemorrhoids condition begins to worsen, it may still be necessary to see a medical professional to cure your hemorrhoidal condition.
