Yachting in Greece, with its many gulfs and archipelagos, is considered as a yachting paradise. Greece is encircled by two seas, the Aegean Sea and the Ionian Sea, in which are spread more than 2000 islands and islets. Sailing a south-easterly course from mainland Greece the avid sailor will come upon the Dodecanese islands, like emeralds glinting in the sun, close to the Turkish coast. Sailing north from Athens on sun speckled seas, the Sporades waits to welcome you. They are a small group of islands with ribbons of golden sand along curving shores framed by green, scented pine hills.
