All photographers from all walks of life want to take the best pictures possible, with the most definition, the least noise possible and the most intense color depth. That is possible only using the best model of lens. A digital SLR lens is perfect for any job you want to do with your camera. What makes a digital SLR lens so special? Most of digital cameras employing SLR lens are using a mechanical mirror system to redirect the light directly to the back of the camera from the lens. The way it works is simple: The light will be reflected by a mirror through the lens upward and at a 90 degree angle and it will be reflected three times by the roof. While exposed the mirror will swing upward then the aperture will narrow and a shutter will open and this process allows light to be projected to the sensor. After that the second shutter covers the sensor terminating the exposure the mirror is lowered and the shutter will be reset. While the mirror is up it will be called viewfinder blackout. To make photos faster it is recommended to use a fast action mirror. The entire process will last only a few milliseconds as cameras as manufactured to repeat the process up to ten times a second, really fast.

Digital SLR lens cameras are preferred by the business industry and professionals because they produce higher quality pictures by displaying the framing near to the moment of exposure and digital SLR cameras allow choosing from many interchangeable lenses. They can also come with a nice depth of field preview system. Another reason they are preferred by professionals is because of their larger sensors compared to common compact digital cameras. Digital SLR cameras possess sensors since their size is almost the same size of the traditional lens size, like the first size they used. Another reason is large sensors allow a better depth of field display increasing the photo quality.

A camera that works with the SLR system uses a mirror to show in the screen a preview of the image that will be captured. Automatic focus makes it easy to capture any picture at any distance of the object for both the beginner and the professional. There is also the option of manual focus but you will need to spend much more time per photo which is not the ideal in a rush situation such as when you are photographing a quick event such as a train passing by. There are also the high definition SLR lenses but these are more expensive and only business men that need professional work will buy them, it makes no sense for an amateur to buy such camera. The SLR lenses are perfect for any situation and since prices are going down day by day it is not just the professional that can afford such advanced lenses, the amateur can also purchase a camera with SLR lenses and start to take pictures like a professional.
