It is no surprise to learn that women are seeking breast implants in Thailand. Breast implants have been part of our culture for a long time. As soon as women discovered that they did not have to settle for what God gave them, they flocked into the offices of various surgeons who were qualified to tackle the task. There have been breast implants of some form or other since the late 19th century though it was not until the 1960s when Cronin and Gerow came up with the first silicone implants that the surgery became more widely known.

Yet women are becoming dissatisfied with the increasing price of breast implant surgery. Women can expect to pay up to $8,000 for saline implants and perhaps $10,000 for silicone implants in a medical center in the United States. When you consider that having breast implants in Thailand costs less than $3,000 in most cases, it is small wonder that several hundred thousand Americans and more than a million worldwide come to Thailand for surgery. It seems that this form of surgery costs the same high price regardless of where you go, unless it happens to be Thailand.

In fact, the only places where it is possible to get cheaper surgery are located in Central America and possibly Africa. However, when it comes to these places, cheap equals poor quality whereas in Thailand, it is value for money. Doctors in countries like Mexico perform surgery without the requisite tools. This leads to as many botched surgeries as successful ones. Do you really want to place your life in the hands of someone who has no idea what they are doing? In Thailand, each and every clinic is strictly regulated by their government. Breast implants in Thailand are safe because the aforementioned regulations are as stringent as what you would find in Europe and the United States. The Thai government has invested billions into their medical tourist venture and are pulling out all the stops to ensure that all patients are treated like royalty.

Once upon a time, the story 'botched op leaves permanent scarring' was assumed to belong to clinics in countries like Thailand. Ignoring the fact that most of this was propaganda on the part of Western media to disguise the glaring deficiencies in their own medical programs, stories like the one above are now more frequently seen in journals and newspapers when describing horror experiences suffered by women in UK and US hospitals among others. Incidentally, there seems to be a dearth of negative reporting relating to breast implants in Thailand.

This could be down to the fact that the procedure has been proven to be safe thousands of times over by the hordes of satisfied patients who walk in and out of Thai medical centers. Western clinics need to get their house in order. Perhaps it is their punishment for years of casting stones at the perceived flaws of foreign hospitals. Now, these facilities must sit on the sidelines and watch as breast implants in Thailand steal yet more custom from their doors.
