Minnesota, Land of 10,000 Lakes, has so much to offer within its borders that it is simply amazing. Not only is there a lot to do in the state, both indoors and out, but the prices are actually very on par with the national average.
About the State Of Minnesota
This upper Midwestern state is home to five point three million Americans, with the majority of them choosing to live in the southern half of the state. This is because the major urban center, Minneapolis-St. Paul, is located in the southern half of the state and two point eight million of those calling the stare home live there.
The landscape of the state lends itself to many outdoor activities, and the civic culture tends to expound on this with a number of fairs, events, and other things to do like the St. Paul Winter Carnival. Of course jobs come in just as many forms, from tourism to services and just about everything between. From the shopping experience and fine dining to renting a canoe and hitting a lake for a day on the water, life is never dull for those who rent Minnesota Apartments.
From the allure of a home on the water, or a job in the great outdoors to the security of living in the big city and the modern convenience that provides, one can find apartments on Minnesota that suit every lifestyle. Educational goals are met through the state's college and university system, which is among the nation's best, and one has the choice of four major sports teams to cheer for, offering year round sports to follow.
How Rents Compare to the National Average and Nearby States
The good news is that prices on average for the month of June 2011 were on par or just below the national average for two bedroom apartments. This means that the state is reasonably affordable for the housing you get. It is not the cheapest state in the region, note. Rather it sits at the high end of prices for the area. This might indicate that outside of the Twin Cities prices are much better then inside it though. Here are the numbers for the region: North Dakota, $683; South Dakota, $711; Iowa, $737; Michigan, $778; Wisconsin, $786; Minnesota Apartments, $917.
Current Rents and Past Trends for Apartments in Minnesota
Median prices for June 2011 are between 70 and 40 dollars below the national average for that size apartment. This means that Minnesota Apartments are typically a good value. Be aware that places with high demand may cost well above the average, while those more remote may be well below it and closer to those states nearest. Here are the figures, with the difference in dollars listed behind the cost: Studio, $656 (-71); One Bedroom, $735 (-43); Two Bedroom, $917 (-44); Three Bedroom, $1,182 (-49).
Over the last six months the trends have been for a gentle increase in rates. They are up just over twenty dollars over all from January. Because this is a consistent trend, long term leases might be an option for those who are concerned about additional costs. Here are the figures for your to make your own decision on: January, $896; February, $929; March, $927; April, $895; May, $916; June, $917.
From the shopping experience and fine dining to renting a canoe and hitting a lake for a day on the water, life is never dull for those who rent Minnesota Apartments.
