Have you been looking for a new way to promote your restaurant without breaking the bank? As a restaurant owner trying to make a living in this economy, of course you have been. There are numerous ways to promote without spending too much, but many people only hit the obvious promotional opportunities. If you want to reach even more people, and you have some time to wait and watch the payoff over the course of several weeks or months, the following idea is bound to be right up your alley.
Make a list of all of the large companies in your area. Most of the larger companies are going to have marketing departments. The marketing department takes care of all of the company's marketing efforts, naturally. However, they also plan events, including lunches and dinners whenever there is a company event, meeting, or when clients are in town. These people are who you are going to want to target.
Send coupons for a free meal to the marketing department. Only send a few to each company. Since everyone likes to have something for free, you can be sure that the marketing heads will show up at your restaurant at some point. When they arrive, they are going to be looking forward to their meal. However, they are always thinking of places where they might be able to hold those lunches, meetings, and events that were mentioned previously. This is the reason you want them to come into your restaurant.
You want to show them that your restaurant is the right place for them to hold all of those events. Of course, you have to make sure that your restaurant really is up to snuff and will be able to handle a large party. That means that you are going to have to reevaluate your restaurant seating layout to make sure that everything is comfortable and spaced properly so nothing looks crowded.
This type of promotion is only going to cost a small amount. If your restaurant meets their needs, you can be sure that they will remember it the next time they have to plan a lunch for their department or when an executive has to take a client out to a nice dinner. It might take a little while, but if you are able to wow the marketing directors at local companies, you could find that your restaurant suddenly becomes quite a bit busier.
