You want to learn Spanish - congratulations! Fortunately, learning how to speak Spanish doesn't have to be hard. It's no problem if languages aren't your strong point. Spanish is spoken by so many people in the world, and you'll have troubles finding a method that will work for you. Next we'll go into some strategies you can employ to make learning Spanish a whole lot easier and more fun.
Keeping some patience in mind will help. It's doubtful you'll be fluent in Spanish within 24 hours. You could have all your vocabulary and verb conjugations memorized. But you'll still probably have trouble making sentences. You'll get nowhere fast if you put a lot of pressure on yourself to speak fluently in too short a time. Just let your self take it slowly. You'll be more comfortable and relaxed with the language. It's also good to learn slowly is because people will have more patience with you if they know you're trying to learn their language. If you try to pass yourself off as completely fluent too soon you could offend someone!
One trick you can use is to label the objects around you. Do this in as many spaces as you can, whether at home, work or even in your vehicle. This will show you the right names for objects, and you'll be seeing them constantly. Nothing is more embarrassing than using one word when you meant to use another! You don't want to be remembered for making a gaffe or even making someone angry by using the wrong word by mistake. If you label your home and office you'll be able to practice learning your new language in a comfortable environment which, depending on your learning style, could speed up your learning process.
One time-tested tool to help you learn are flashcards. This is a simple but effective way to reinforce your knowledge. Teachers in so many different areas still use them because they have proven helpful over the years. Use them to learn about using verbs in different tenses, correctly applying grammatical rules and so forth. Flashcards are usually pretty small so you can take them with you when you leave the house and work on your Spanish in your spare time. You can also have someone quiz you. The process is extremely simple -on one side of the card, write the word in your own language; on the other side, the same word in Spanish. Learning Spanish, or any other language, does not have to be frustrating. It's so easy to find hints and tools to help you with the learning. The key to it all is maintaining an open mind for learning. Your mind will more easily absorb the knowledge when it is open. The more you try to make the language sound like your native tongue, the harder you will make things for yourself.
