Everyone loves a good bargain, more so when it’s something they actually want. Everyone wants a holiday; in fact most of us feel we actually deserve one. But what with rising inflation, spending cuts, a tumultuous stock market and slow economic growth, we are all having a little rethink as far as our summer holidays our concerned. We are still determined to have one; but inspiration might come from somewhere different.
Groupon has enjoyed huge successes in the US and its rapid immersion and adoption in the UK, means all kinds of companies have been quick to jump on the bandwagon. Groupon now offers a huge variety of deals from beauty treatments to hotel accommodation packages, so surely it’s possible to have a holiday comprised of several daily deals?
So, let’s take a jaunt to the capital of Northern Ireland, Belfast. Perusing previous Belfast deals for inspiration, we were able to find accommodation packages without too much hunting. There were four accommodation deals in Belfast just recently, each with savings of around 60%. Each was just for one night, but it included food – either breakfast or dinner – and was valid for two people. So there’s four nights’ accommodation sorted.
So what can you do in the day? One of the best Groupon deals in Belfast for tourists was a 60% discount on a city sightseeing bus. Another Belfast deal was 60% off entry for the city’s Exploris Aquarium.
What about food? Either breakfast or dinner was included in the hotel packages mentioned above, but lunch can be a little trickier. Eating on the go can be expensive, especially seeing as you are bound to end up in some tourist place. But not so with these Belfast Groupon deals. We found at least four restaurants in Belfast offering around 60% off for buffets, burgers, mains and desserts. Some were only valid for one person, and you could only use one per table, but others were for two people and there was no limit to how many vouchers can be used in one order.
So basically, you could have a pretty decent holiday for 60% off what you would normally spend. Did we mention we love a good bargain?
I am an avid user of daily deal sites and Groupon in particular. for Groupon deals in Belfast visit www.groupon.co.uk
