The alkaline diet is another example of humanity trying to get back to its roots, back then when everything was so simple and uncomplicated, when people lived long and happy lives eating the fruits of the earth and enjoying every minute of it. True, modern times have brought forth numerous innovations and technical developments that made our lives easier, but at the same time got us farther away from the core of life.
When it comes to solutions for a healthier and balanced life, practitioners and physicians sustain the efficiency of the alkaline diet, warning people about the dangers of too many acidic foods. Researchers claim that, in time, acidic diets can lead to obesity, diabetes and even cancer, not to mention stomach ulcers, gastritis and esophagus burns. Famous physicians and renowned scientists claim the effectiveness of the alkaline diet and validate the many benefits of eating unprocessed, healthier food.
Because we are used to consume on daily basis foods that contain a large quantity of sugar, salt, starch and we are so used to eating processed foods, that we don’t allow our bodies to maintain a neutral pH level of the blood. Not providing the body with the vitamins and minerals it needs for maintaining a neutral pH, in time this could lead to diabetes, high-blood pressure and various infections.
A pH diet will feed the body with the necessary nutrients it needs in order to maintain the pH of the blood to a neutral level and avoid such serious diseases. With this type of diet, what you eat and what you don’t eat have the same importance. On one hand, you should completely eliminate sugar, salt, coffee and alcohol from your daily meals, trying to eat only fresh and unprocessed foods, raw vegetables, fruit or nuts.
Determining your metabolic type can also be of help and assist you in figuring out what are the basic needs of your body. Different aliments and foods require a different amount of time for digestion and absorption. The metabolic diet can help you eat healthier and more delicious food, while staying in shape and losing the unwanted pounds.
Taking care of your body and understanding its basic needs are not something you do only when you get sick and you are required to. Get to know your body, to understand its mechanisms and you have many chances of prolonging your life and staying healthy for a longer time.
