DON’T let Many years of work experience go for an impulse,be sure that you are making the correct decision and it’s time to change careers or complete a radical job change, make sure that you really want to switch careers. If you have put the last 15 years in to a particular industry, or went along to school for training for a particular career, don’t let all of that work go to waste. Make sure that you’re not just in a rut and dissatisfied with the job. If you’re just in a rut you may then find that you really love your work in the end and switching jobs will be a big mistake.
How do you know if you desperately want to alter careers or if you’re just within a rut? It’s not necessarily simple to know. If you are dissatisfied with your job it may just be the particular company you're employed for and not the industry. If that is the situation then going to work for another company might solve the problem without you being forced to give up years of experience or education in that industry. Here are some things that can help you figure out if it’s really time to switch careers or if you simply need to change your routine just a little. Take the time off Just how long has it been since your last vacation? It’s probably been awhile. If you’re racking your brains on whether you want to stay in your present industry among the first things you need to do is take some time off. Go away completely.
Leave town, leave the family behind, take a couple of days to be completely alone and clear your brain. Invest some time while you are away doing things that you enjoy and don’t think about work at all.
Whenever you come back you may find that you are excited about your job again and don’t want to leave your current job after all.
Another suggestion is to take your holiday but this time around take your children, with you and just spend every minute you have with them
listening and enjoying to all their ideas and joining in all the fun you can.
You will feel refreshed and ready to get back to work with a refocused attitude for your family The best of all is your kids will never forget
the holiday when you completely focused on them.
