There are numerous ways to motivate a business team. The greatest way is to hire a motivational speaker, such as Lois Barth. She realizes times are difficult economically. She also knows there are fewer employees on a team doing much more work. Employees and teams are stressed. Lois is able to alleviate the work load and make business teams laugh. She then motivates them to attain more and leaves them wanting to accomplish and reach their goals. Her energy and creativity sparks a return energy in your business teams and employees. She teaches them to harness their energy and use it to increase their efficiency.
Recognize, encourage and reward work well done by your teams and employees. A "thank you" from a superior can go a long way. Individuals are expected to respond to encouragement and to please others. Allowing your employees know they are valued and important motivates them to work harder. A business team made of individuals who feel they are important to the company will work to make the company profitable.
Set practical targets for your team. Asking the impossible will not motivate your team to work harder. Rather, they will stop trying before they even try. Starting with a feasible goal, then increasing what is asked is more effective compared to giving a large number to a team at once. Make every team member accountable for his or her target or goal. Require accountability and the team will deliver it.
Encourage team work. Do not pit your employees from one another. While healthy competition can be great, for instance, a competition with a prize for the most sales, there is a thing like unhealthy competition. Speaking badly of one employee to another is unhealthy competition. Motivate your team members to work together and to inspire each other. Do not separate them from each other.
Make the work area pleasant. Break the monotony of the work area by having employees switch jobs. Make sure they have the proper devices to do their job. These include electronics, supplies, and tools to communicate. Do not presume if they have a great time they are not working well. Happy workers are more productive employees, and productive employees increase revenue.
Be available to your employees. Hiding inside your office in group meetings has a negative impact on your team. Schedule your time properly so you are available to your team once they need you. When your team needs to consult with you before moving forward and cannot reach, then precious time is lost. Aggravation in employees results in inefficiency.
Be supportive to your team. Never ever make your employees feel as though asking you for advice is a bad thing. Be ready to assist when your team requires help. Do not be discouraging when they ask questions.
Make sure your expectations are clear. Does your business team fully grasp what you expect to have of them? Is their goal clear? If your team has a strong understanding on the expectations and targets they need to reach, then don't seek to micromanage them. Micromanagement suggests you do not believe in your team and is depressing to them. Simply because they might attain a target diversely doesn't mean they are attaining the goal incorrectly.
Lastly, make sure to obtain something optimistic to convey daily to your team. Remark upon even the smallest progress and treat each employee with courtesy, dignity and respect. Remember to prize outstanding performances with praise. Treat your business team and employees as the valuable asset they are.
