Opposites attract. And from a scientific point of view, I think we can all be in agreement, right? Does the same principle apply when it comes to Black white dating? Can we simply say that this kind of interracial mixing is as a result of some chemistry between the North and South poles? Well, the thing is, when you ask many people about the sudden rise in Black white dating, "opposites attract" will be the first thing that comes out of their mouths.

Well, there can be some truth to this. Some people have a pull towards what’s different and this intrigues them. Some people initially get into Black white dating as a way of experimenting with what is different only to find that they can’t go back to dating within their race. So this attraction between Blacks and whites can actually be explained as a pull towards the "opposite" – a pull towards something that is different from ones culture.

But an attraction to different cultures isn’t the only thing that makes black white dating possible. Much as these couples share a difference in cultures, they first of all share something very special – openness to dating outside their race… openness to dating an individual for reasons that go beyond race, color and ethnicity. Plus such openness to dating a person you are most compatible with despite race is the glue that holds couples in these interracial relationships together.

We know that much as opposites attract, we cannot say that these relationships flourish because the two individuals are black and white. There is more to black white dating than this. I believe compatibility plays the greatest role in holding together these couples. Plus, with the kind of opposition such couples face, love, patience and perseverance are key ingredients for these relationships to develop into mature and long lasting relationships.

Various people have various reasons why they fall with whoever they fall for or why they are attracted to them – especially those that specifically date a particular race. Some want to experiment, see if the stereotypes they have heard are true or not. With diversity in most of the cities, it shouldn’t come as a shock that people (from different races) who relate to each other can get into a romantic relationship. And with the online dating boom, it shouldn’t come as a shock that people who relate in the chat rooms found their way into each other’s hearts. This is our world today; an interracial kind of world.
