The Northland region of New Zealand is an unspoilt paradise with the potential to fulfil all your holiday and lifestyle dreams. If you are considering the purchase of a coastal property in Northland, you are certainly setting yourself up for a future full of fun, adventure, relaxation and seeing nature at its best. One of the best places for a wide range of coastal property choices is the Bay of Islands, with its twin towns of Paihia and Russell. The Bay of Islands region is exactly as the name suggests - a bay with nearly 150 islands to explore – including Motuarahi Island and Motumaire Island just off the coast of Paihia. The Bay of Islands is the perfect marine playground for water lovers and those who enjoy all kinds of water sports.
Coastal properties in the area come in all shapes and sizes. There are many beaches in the area, including Paihia Beach, Te Ti Bay and Wairoa Bay on the Paihia side. The Russell peninsula is surrounded by attractive beaches and coastal areas including Opito Bay, Paroa Bay, Waitata Bay, Waihihi Bay, Uruti Bay, Orongo Bay and Waikare Inlet. Coastal properties in these areas include everything from sections and bush clad areas of land to beach houses, commercial properties and residential houses.
Although you have all the privacy in the world, you don’t have to go far to reach one of the attractive and historic towns such as Paihia, Russell, Kerikeri, Waitangi or Kawakawa. The two main coastal towns are Paihia and Russell and you can easily use the car ferry or passenger ferry to go between the two. The car ferry to Russell runs every 20 minutes or so between 7am and 9pm seven days a week and only takes 10 minutes. Passenger ferries run between roughly the same times and leave every 30 minutes or so. Most people choose one of those options over the long and tricky drive between Paihia and Russell.
It is a part of New Zealand that is filled with secluded bays and sandy beaches, warm water and vibrant scenery. Purchasing a coastal property in Northland gives you a great opportunity to watch dolphins, whales and penguins in their natural environment. For those who enjoy fishing and diving, the bounty is huge, with plentiful snapper and plump scallops. Big game fishing is also popular here, with enthusiasts travelling from around the world to snare their own marlin, swordfish or shark.
Jan began her real estate career in West Auckland around the time of the sharemarket crash, she sold nine properties in her first month and since then success has bred success.
