The newest video game in the popular Need for Speed street racing series is Need for Speed: The Run. Gamers play the role of Jack as he competes in 'The Run', which is an illegal 3,000 mile race from coast-to-coast (San Francisco to New York) in order to win the $25 million winner's prize. It turns out that Jack owes a heap of cash to the Mob, and if he wins 'The Run' it will give him the funds to pay back all his debts. In 'The Run' there won't be any race rules and no speed restrictions, and whilst you race coast-to-coast you need to stay one step ahead of your race competitors, the police, the Mob and a dark past.
In this game, you will race through various surroundings, from busy city streets, vast desert environments, slippery mountain passes as well as winding canyon roads. The Run will be the largest NFS title to date, having over 300km of track, and this game is 3 times bigger than Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit. The route you race in this game takes you past Las Vegas, Denver, the motor city of Detroit, over the Rocky Mountains in addition to many other places, and will also be the very first video game within the series to make use of real-life places.
The driving scenarios all the way through NFS: The Run offer you lots of variety, for instance through one section players have to dodge avoiding a spot light and bullets fired from a helicopter that's pursuing you. NFS: The Run will be the only Need for Speed game which sees the player has to exit the vehicle and play a number of sections of this game whilst on foot. NFS: The Run has numerous multiplayer modes, the Need for Speed Autolog feature, as well as many cars plus upgrades which can be won playing on-line, the game provides tons of replayability.
