Some surfers have the saying "you cant pick out your board, your board has to pick you" in some ways they are right but I have a way to help you keep money in your pocket from making those costly mistake of picking the wrong board. Paddleboards are simple but there are a few things you have to ask yourself first!! Am I going to be on a lake? Am I going to be doing long distances? Am I going to be surfing? If so what type of wave? Are you going to want to race? Or are you that woman or man that just going out to relax and play on the water while getting a good whole body exercise. Stand up paddle boarding is not only a individual sport but a family bonding experience from the lakes to the oceans, it’s a way of bringing families together to have a good time without spending much money. So let’s get back to matter at hand what type of board is good for you?? If you are just starting I created a chart for you check it out. Make sure you do not under size your board!!!! Study the dimensions of the boards you're considering and make sure you don't go too small. The general rule is that once you're up to paddling speed you don't want the tail to drag. Stepping slightly forward will smooth-out the water release at the tail but if the board is too small your nose will dig in. Both Men and Women, young and old, have different wants and needs when it comes to buying their very own stand up paddle board (SUP). In order to ensure that the board you purchase matches all of your specific needs, you should understand and follow these three tips: Size the paddleboard for your weight! Size the paddleboard based on the water conditions! Size for your own convenience! Paddle boarding offers an amazing full body workout and is becoming a favorite cross-training activity for skiers, snowboarders and other athletes. And since you're standing at your full height, you'll enjoy excellent views of everything from sea creatures to what's on the horizon. It's almost like walking on water!
