You will never know when a disaster may strike and you will need disaster supplies. You might find yourself without food after an earthquake or bad weather. When there is a disaster, we need to always be ready to protect our family's needs. Being prepared entails having satisfactory disaster food supply as well as unfilled storage.
The requirements of each individual should be what go into your emergency source kit. In addition to the one in your home, preparing an emergency kit for your car and work is a good idea as well. The randomness and unpredictability of disasters requires you to always be ready. Not only do disaster source packages provide you with the items that you may require when faced with an unexpected situation, they have the capability of saving your life. An emergency package is an absolute must, and therefore you should be educated on what you need to have in them.
I will attempt to show you a few things you should consider. A disaster source package should be within reach at your home, in your car, and while you're at work. These should include disaster Medical kits, food items that hold a significant nutritional value. The first item that you should ensure that your kit has is water. For each person that you are supplying for, it is imperative you provide them with one gallon of water a day. However, if you live in a region that is considered to be relatively hot and humid, you may want to add additional sources of water. It is important to ensure that there is water for drinking and personal sanitation. In addition to a source of hydration, also have an edible source of nourishment in your package. You will want to choose the foods that are best in times of peril. These would be foods that are already packaged and don't take much time to cook. Foods that make you want to drink more water are a bad idea. The dietary needs of each person of your group are good to consider as well. A three to seven day food allotment for each individual is encouraged.
The list of items you should have in your package is as follows: first aid items, a source of light, a source of communication, cleanliness and sanitation accommodations, shelter providing items, means of building a fire and cooking. Some people choose to stockpile extra clothes, blankets, etc., and things that will keep them from harm. In the event of a tragedy or other type of situation, it is imperative to ensure that your emergency source packages have all of the items that you will need to live, thrive, and survive.
Your bathtubs and sinks should be filled with water if a storm is coming. It can come in handy when the power is out and there is no water. It can be used in the toilets, and for drinking if you have Iodine tablets or if you can boil it. You can go a long time without eating, but not without hydrating. Always keep a small camping stove-top in your emergency source package.
