If you are planning a baby shower for a friend there is a whole host of items you must plan for before the party. A shower may seem to be a simple event, but if hope for the party to be super successful there are certain details you must be sure to take care of.

Determine a fitting location.

If the shower is to be a shock you won't be able to have it at the house of the mother to be. You must be sure that the location is big enough to accommodate all the guests, but not too formal. Usually these occasions are simply a group of friends assembling, so it is often better to be able to take it easy in someone's house or yard than have to be on your best behavior in a bistro. It's less expensive too. Of course, you may need additional supplies or seating.

Obtain the arrangements organized.

You can have pink or blue themed centrepieces if you know which sex the baby is going to be, or you can also pick other neutral colors that can still work within a baby topic. You can get ceiling streamers with baby or animal shapes cut out of them, or balloons with storks printed on them or a whole host of other decorations ranging from funny and cute to classy and pricey.

Provide some food.

Make sure that there is some type of meal for your guests. Even if you are performing the party on a small budget you will need to organize some snacks. Make sure you check if anyone has food allergies, and if youngsters are coming you will require child friendly foods as well. You will also need drinks. Determine if you feel it is right to serve alcoholic drinks considering the mom to be won't be able to partake.

Make sure there is a safe area for infants to play, if mothers with young children are invited.

If you don't do this then you will have to be forever verifying that the youngsters aren't' getting in to trouble or playing with issues they shouldn't be.

Organize a gift list.

If you circulate a present list, once you determine which guests are attending, then you will be sure that the mum to be won't get lots of equivalent presents. If you know there are things she needs, then be certain you have these on the list. Or, suggest that she create a registry. Try to make sure there are affordable selections too so some people don't feel they have to buy a gift that is more high priced than they want or can afford.

Remember to send out the invites well in advance!

If you don't tell people when the party is then all your time and effort will be wasted! Or, some may already have other plans. If you send penned invites guests are considerably more likely to remember to come to the shower than if you just point out it in person or make a call. They will have a composed reminder that they can put in a distinguished place in their house so that they don't forget to come!

Finally, have a good time! A baby shower is a joyous occasion so be prepared, but don't stress!
