Edmonton’s Capital EX - entertainment for the entire family

Fondly dubbed the favorite local event of the year, the Edmonton Capital EX sees a massive number of visitors going live in summer as a ten-day fest of live entertainment. It has the best of the region on display. While the more adventurous go for the rides and games, others enjoy shopping and food at the Family Fun Town and Fun Town Farm. After the sun sets, the TELUS Stage lights up, beckoning with live concerts.

Previously called Klondike Days, the Edmonton Capital EX has a long history going back to 1879 when the first ever exhibition was held. This year, it is scheduled to begin five days after the Calgary Stampede and will be held from July 20 to 29, 2012. The exhibition is held at the grounds at Northlands at 116 Avenue and 73 Street close to Rexall Place. It is full of activities to keep visitors of all ages entertained. The gates open to the public from noon to midnight while the midway is open from noon to closing time.

During the event, vendors get the chance to display and highlight their range of products, gaining them exposure with millions of visitors who attend the exhibition.

The Capital EX Monster Truck Show

Among the favorites during these ten days is the Edmonton Capital EX Monster Truck Show powered by Western RV at Rexall Place. Five action packed shows feature the latest trucks in the category ranging in size from a height of 12 feet and a width of 12 feet. These are custom designed vehicles that weigh over 10,000 pounds and sit on 66-inch tall tires. Onlookers enjoy watching these high powered monster trucks that generate 1500 to 2000 horsepower and run at 100 miles an hour. The trucks can also take off and jump across a hundred feet, rising 35 feet in the air.

Seniors Day
