It may seem hard trying to come up with a costume idea, but it's trying to come up with a costume while on a small budget that can seem even more difficult. If you are finding it hard to come up with a great, creative costume idea on a smaller budget, reading the advice below may be rather helpful.

There are many ways of coming up with costume ideas while being on a budget. Your best bet is to create a costume on your own. Doing so will save you money and allow you to create whatever it is that you want to dress up as. If you aren't the creating kind, you can always buy a cheaper costume from a costume store and add a few accessories or even some face paint to make it even better.

If you chose to make a costume, you can do it easily by using simple everyday materials. Things that you have in your own home, such as paper towels rolls, cardboard, fabric, paint, markers, glue, and construction paper are all some common options. Your choices of materials can be found anywhere and if not, you can always purchase what you need from a general store for rather cheap.

If you choose to make something, you will want to decide on a costume idea before you begin creating. For example, you can be a robot by using a big box for your body and a smaller box with eyes holes for your head. You can then cover the box in tin foil and other things like screws and bolts to make your costume really look like a robot.

If creating a costume just isn't something you want to do, buying a less costly costume from a costume store is always a good choice. Although, those costumes aren't very detailed so you will want to add some accessories and maybe some paint. You can buy a mobster costume and buy a fedora hat, a cigar and a fake gun to add more detail.

A witch is another great costume idea. All you need is some black clothing, a witches hat, and maybe a fake nose. If you don't have any all black clothing, ask a friend to borrow some or go to a used clothing store to buy some for cheap. Then all you need to do is grab a broom from your home and your witch's hat and you're all set.

Coming up with a costume idea on a budget is actually rather simple. You just need to have a creative mind and the time to put into it. You can still be almost anything you would like to be.

Hopefully, you have some budget friendly costume ideas after reading this.
