Educate For Life: Defending Christianity
Many Christians have questions about their faith, but who is providing the answers? In fact, this is the main purpose of Christian apologists. Sadly, many Christians do not even know the meaning of the term apologetics. Unlike pastors, who primarily teach the word of God, the job of an Apologist is to defend it with reason and evidence. They follow the Apostle Paul’s command to "destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ" (2 Cor. 10:5, ESV).
Educate for Life is a non-profit organization based in San Diego, California. Its mission is to offer apologetics training to high school-aged Christian youths. For the past year, Educate for Life has taught an apologetics course on creationism, evolution, and intelligent design, to many high school students. This course examines the claims of both sides of the evolution debate, and shows the proof of God’s involvement in creation. There has never been more scientific support for the idea that life was not an accident, but was designed by an unimaginably intelligent being. Our creation science curriculumis perfect for public school students who are constantly presented with an outdated, one-sided case for evolution.
Now, in addition to intelligent design education, we offer a course in world religions. Our worldview curriculum critically examines Islam, Buddhism, Mormonism, and other faiths, in order to give students an understanding of how these movements were founded, what they teach, and whether they are supported by evidence. In a world full of conflicting views on God, morality, and life after death, an understanding of world religions and their foundations is extremely beneficial. Students in our worldview class will be able to see for themselves whether there is anything special about Christianity, or if it’s just another belief system.
Our course offerings, as well testimonials and additional information about Educate for Life, can be found at www.educateforlife.org. Soon our classes will be available in fully online form. Join us in our mission to show the world that faith in Christianity couldn’t be more reasonable.
