In this article we will continue on with our list of the best places to ride your bike. In the previous article we listed a number of places around Britain that can be explored using bikes. Here we will list a few more great cycling paths and routes for you to take.

The Northumberland Coast is another great route for cycle enthusiasts. The coastal scenery is perfect for those who are a little more experienced in riding a bike as this is a ninety one mile journey, so a lot of pedalling is to be had here. Starting at Berwick Upon Tweed and finishing at Newcastle railway station you will come across magnificent coastlines, medieval ruins and historic castles. Along the way you will also be lead to Holy Island and Hadrian’s Wall.

Next up is the Yorkshire Dales. This national park is a great place to take a journey on bikes. Discover scenic views and the characteristic towns of Kingsdale, Deepdale and Dentdale. The route is around one hundred and thirty miles long, so this is not one for the faint hearted.

For those who are beginners when it comes to cycling, the Putney Bridge to Hampton Court route is definitely one to try. With twelve miles of riverside views, historic pubs and quiet path ways, it is a journey that you will want to complete again and again.

Another superb cycling route is the Scottish Coast to Coast. This course has been voted one of the top 10 trips of a lifetime and one that many cyclists have tried and loved. Along the two hundred and fifty mile journey, you will discover an array of highland highlights and incredible views of the Hebrides. Ancient trails and paths can also be found on the route as well as mountains and steep hills for the truly adventurous.

Last on our list of best places to ride your bike is the Seven Stanes in Southern Scotland. This thirty six mile ride is a single track filled with challenges and adventure. Named the Holy Grail of mountain biking, this is one that needs to be completed by all those keen mountain bikers out there.

So that concludes our, shall we say, short trip through the best places to cycle. Britain boasts a variety of cycling adventures and is a great country to travel by bike. For anyone reading who is an enthusiastic bike rider and wants to take a cycling holiday, Britain is certainly the place to be.
