There are times when finding the right job could not be attained by mere application. Some companies are just full, others look for rather specialized in qualifications. Because of these situations, a lot of individuals, especially that of fresh graduates, find it hard to land on jobs immediately, and they are usually left with no choice but to wait for new employment opportunities to arrive. However, there is one office that can help in resolving their job hunt predicaments-a placement agency.
A placement agency, also known as a recruitment or employment agency, is an office that serves as the middleman between employers and jobseekers. These agencies are usually hired by companies that are looking for the right individuals to join their workforce, and these offices will conduct the screening process of applicants. People applying for jobs may turn to placement agencies for help, as they get to land on jobs faster than submitting applications directly to employers.
Employment agencies are usually set up to find workers who are willing to work abroad. Overseas workers, particularly those from Asia, were able to land on stable jobs in Europe, Middle East, Canada and the United States via placement agencies, as these offices provided them not just with stable, but long-term contract jobs.
Benefits of a Placement Agency
There are many advantages of choosing to apply via a placement agency, and among them are:
Faster application screening. Applicants are given exams, interviews and other kinds of tests that may last for only one day, which is quite convenient as they get to finish everything without having the need to come back to the office again and again.
Employee placement is processed with minimal red tape. Applicants who successfully passed the recruitment process have their papers processed by the agency itself, and within a few weeks they can start working in the company they were assigned to.
Long-term contracts are offered to aspiring jobseekers. Successful jobseekers are provided with stable, long-term employment contracts, especially when they are accepted to work abroad.
Things to Ponder when Choosing a Placement Agency
While placement agencies offer faster and more convenient application processes, they also pose some concerns aspiring employees should be aware of. These include:
Placement and other fees. There are some agencies that ask their employees to pay for a sum of money for processing fees, to pay for their papers and other requirements for the company they are going to work for. This is usually illegal, thus it is important to know the agency’s terms first before proceeding with the application.
Which company you will be sent to. When looking for an agency to trust, it is important to know their client companies. This is for applicants to know in which employers they will be assigned to, especially if they are going to work abroad. Agencies whose clients tend to be dubious in name and reputation should be avoided, as they might just be operating scams that can risk the lives of the people they hired.
Dealing with a placement agency can make or break someone’s career. By knowing how these agencies work, and getting to know them in a much deeper level, jobseekers will be able to find the jobs that they want, from the office they could trust.
