The body is made up of many types of cells; this also goes for the skin. Typically, the cells function properly, except when raided by free radicals. Then the cells can become damaged causing diseases, issues, and even signs of aging on the skin as in wrinkles. However, with the right skin care this damage can be prevented and in some cases repaired. This can provide many anti-aging results for the skin.
What are Free Radicals? How Do These Damage the Skin?
Free radicals are by-products of the various chemical processes that happen in the body. These are microscopic in size, but the free radicals are unstable because each one has some unpaired electrons. As these go through the body looking to snag other electrons is when they can cause damage. If free radicals grab a collagen electron, the chemical makeup of this substance is changed. This causes the skin to become damaged. Fine lines, wrinkles, sagging skin and more can happen. This is when serious skin care is needed.
Since chemical processes are constantly happening in the body and skin, this is an ongoing problem. When left alone free radicals cause all sorts of damage that takes proper skin care to correct. It can even lead to skin cancers occurring and this could even endanger the overall health of the body. Is there a skin care solution? Yes, using products on the skin that stop free radicals in their tracks is the anti-aging skin care solution.
Free radicals can be caused by outside forces too such as smoking, environmental conditions and more. It is important to avoid anything that can cause these elements from doing damage.
Proper Skin Care to Stop Damage Skin Cells
Proper skin care starts with eating nutritious foods. This gives the body the nutrients it needs to help fight off free radicals from within it. Foods high in antioxidants are extremely important for this. Drink enough water to keep the cells hydrated.
The other thing that needs to be done to deter free radicals is to use the right kind of skin care, anti-aging products. These products should contain some effective antioxidants to fight the free radicals from through the skin. There are creams that contain zinc, vitamin A, vitamin E, vitamin C, beta carotene, and other antioxidants for use today. These will help stop the free radicals and even help to repair the damage present on the skin.
Using sunscreen needs to be used to prevent damage from the sun. Too much unprotected sun exposure can cause the free radicals to run rampant damaging the skin. When sunscreen is used, the skin is protected from this damage. This is an important anti-aging step to take with the skin.
Make healthy lifestyle choices. Smoking and drinking alcoholic beverages will show on the skin. They both can age skin prematurely. Free radicals are let loose to damage the skin and body when these habits are part of one's life. Improve your life and drop these habits to adopt a better skin care lifestyle.
No one wants to age before his/her time. With the proper skin care, a person does not even have to look his/her age let alone older. The use of anti-aging products on the skin will vanquish the free radicals, and protect and improve the skin.
