Gas Powered String Trimmers - It's a Guy Thing

I know it’s a ‘guy thing’ but I’ve always believed if you couldn’t afford a four-wheeler or a motor cycle, owning a gas powered string trimmer was the next best alternative. There’s just something about gas powered engines that make a lot of noise that guys love.
In addition to the macho reasons, a gas powered string trimmer and edger is a fantastic lawn maintenance tool. They are great for yards with a lot of trees, island flower beds and other obstacles that need to be trimmed or edged around where an appliance connected to a long extension cord would not be suitable. Generally, they are powerful enough to handle thicker grasses and weeds than their electrical counterparts.
If you’re just maintaining your own established lawn in the suburbs a model designed for residential use will probably be your best bet. These bad boys deliver plenty of power for trimming grass and weeds and will save you some green in comparison to the cost of a professional or commercial grade trimmer.
However, if you are a lawn maintenance contractor or own a country sized estate with a variety of trimming and edging work requirements, you’ll need to step up to a more heavy duty, professional model trimmer. These generally have a more powerful engine to accommodate a variety of trimming jobs and longer run times. They are well worth the added cost in longer life and durability.
Gas powered string trimmers are now available with 4 cycle engines as well as the standard 2 cycle engines. The 2 cycle engines require a mixture of gas and 2 cycle engine oil, where as the 4 cycle engines run on gas only.
Whether you live in the suburbs and have a small yard, own a mini-ranch, or make your living maintaining lawns there are many excellent models by name brand manufacturers for you to select from to find the best trimmer to handle your particular needs.
Before deciding on which make and model you want to buy be sure to compare warranties and maintenance schedules. A piece of equipment that doesn’t run or requires a lot of maintenance is like a big hole in your pocket. I have a friend who, before he buys anything powered with a small gas engine, visits several repair shops to talk to the people who work on these items every day. He finds out which models break down most often, which are easiest to get parts for and which ones are the easiest to maintain. He believes over the years this has helped him make better buying decisions and saved him a lot of money.
There are many factors to consider when choosing which model is best for you. To learn what they are visit thebeststringtrimmer.com now!
