We all know that your choice of clothes would create a very significant impact on your expenses. Shopping could be the most fun activities that girls find however, after going into your wallet and credit card statement, you would half-wish that you shouldn’t have spent so much. Many of us have this notion that the more expensive your clothes and accessories are, the better it would look. However, it all would depend on how you project it. A lot of us don’t even notice that this woman is just wearing a top that is less than $10 and yet, the way she wears it looks so expensive on her. Furthermore, I would more than agree that in this economy we have, we cannot afford to lose that hard earned money we have. On the other hand, we do have our wants and one is to look fashionably good. So, how could we make both ends meet?
As a frugal fashionista myself, I try to several options that would lead me to saving more and to look chic enough. Here are some tips that you too could also use as you venture into another spending mode when it comes to fashion.
Try to purchase as well cheap clothes at some thrift stores
Go on and venture into different shops looking for bargains or on sale items, also try to buy some clothes which have that classic look so it won’t wear out any time of the year. There are a lot of stores and consignment shops that are available in most of the areas. You would find really great clothes once you have the gut power to rummage through their items.
Aside from those big malls and other large enterprise retailers, look into those small boutiques or stores. They have a lot of unique and handmade clothes that are affordable.
Online coupons and deals are very popular nowadays. Look up into some websites that offer coupons or promotional codes. These are very useful! There are some codes that would give you free shipping or simply some that gives you at least 20-40% of its retail price. You would definitely have great savings once you do that. All you have to do is search for it online and type in promo codes or coupons. However, I would say that it is usually better to look for such codes after you have already decided on what to buy.
Do you know why French women always look stylish? That is because they just buy few of the classic clothes that they really want with the best quality for which they could afford. From there, they would be using it many times or for several years, using different accessories, these looks would vary from time to time. If you are wondering what those pieces are then here is a must-have list for French women:
o A white tailored top
o A black jacket
o Perfect jeans
o Sweater – preferably cashmere
o The rest are just inexpensive clothes which they could buy like some shirts, etc.
Another thing you should do is to update your clothes from last year. Do your own mix and match. Those accessories, again, could create fresh look. You could use some belts, funky necklace, etc. You could also have some of your clothes retailored. For example, if that flowing skirt last year was so popular and now has gone out of fashion then let the tailor do some readjustments and have it created into something fashionably new.
Lastly, the key to saving is to really take extra care of the clothes. Many of us don’t really bother to have a stain washed immediately from our clothes, we just opt to leave it there and never wearing it again. If we take care of our clothes, it might just very long. You could save a lot of money instead of spending so much on clothes every year. Here are some tips tat you might want to do to your clothes:
o Washing your clothes in cold water is gentler on the fabrics
o Wash only if it is really dirty. You don’t have to wash each piece every time you use it to avoid wearing it quickly.
o Don’t forget to zip those items that have zippers so that the items won’t get snagged in the washer.
Lastly, when you go shopping, make a list of what you really need so that you won’t have to splurge into something that you would see immediately.
