Essay writing is a requirement for everyone who undergoes an academic training. The main objective of essay writing is to test the expressive nature of the learners. An essay writer should be conversant with the basic essay writing styles and apply the required referencing rules in order to write a quality essay. Essays can be categorized into descriptive, narrative or persuasive. An essay writer should understand the type of essay he or she needs to write and apply the relevant writing style to write a quality paper.
Writing a quality essay requires a writer to think critically before beginning to write. Most essay writers write essays that do not meet the requirements of the reader due to lack of critical thoughts. The first thing an essay writer should upon receiving a topic of the essay is to read and understand all the instructions. These enable the writer to clearly understand the requirements of the essay in order to avoid irrelevancies. The second step is to collect materials from credible sources that will help the writer to complete an essay. Third, the writer should decide the referencing styles. The most common referencing styles in use include APA, MLA, Oxford and Harvard. Each of the formatting styles has different rules available at various academic research and writing websites. Fourth, the writer should make an outline of the essay and use this outline to write a final essay paper. A good writer should be systematic in developing a quality essay.
Essay writing follows specific styles depending on whether an essay is descriptive, narrative or persuasive. A descriptive essay is science-related. A descriptive essay requires a background description of a process, object or state of affairs. This can be done hierarchically, chromatically or serially. Descriptive essays test the ability of learners to select and synthesize factual information. A narrative essay tells a story that makes a reader to develop a mental picture of an event in the story. Narrative essays give writers an opportunity of re-creating happenings such as emotions and mood. The purpose of a persuasive essay is to convince the reader to accept one side of an argument. Persuasive essays support viewpoints with valid facts and statistical data in order to convince the reader. Essays can be classified in to descriptive, narrative and persuasive essays.
Essay writers should follow basic essay writing styles to write quality essays. The writer should follow the basic steps in writing essays. Essay writers should be aware of the available referencing styles and adhere to the rules of each style to the latter. Essays can be classified in to three categories; these are descriptive, narrative and persuasive. Writers should follow the basic writing styles in order to complete quality essays.
