Fabrics

Start the bathroom makeover by making a new shower curtain. See if you have any large pieces of unused cotton or polyester around the house. They can also be bought cheaply at a fabric shop. Choose your favorite color and take a chance on eye-catching patterns. Check out newer fabrics that are mold and mildew resistant as they would fit perfectly in the bathroom environment.

Make it run longer for added drama or have it go wider to cover more space. It is totally up to you and that is the beauty of this project. Everything can be specially designed to fit your particular needs.

Add a ribbon at the border and, again, make use of the pins to hold it into place. A drafting triangle will be handy in cutting angled edges.

Strong fabric glue should be administered at vital points to reinforce the pins. Use it along the edges and apply pressure to both sides. Be careful so that the line is kept straight.

There are quite a few options for the top of the curtain. How it will hang from the rod is all up to you. Grommets are often employed and you can choose from metal or plastic. Just cut up equally spaced holes and snap these into place. Another option is to use ties and button tabs.

It will be necessary to make some stitches for the tabs on either side. This is can be done in a variety of ways so some research on the different patterns and take the path that looks the most comfortable or the most interesting.
