It is thought around forty per cent of those who suffer from Type 2 diabetes also have high blood pressure. Which explains why I am taking blood pressure medication! High blood pressure is another condition that is believed to be made worse by having excess weight. Also having that excess weight may lead to a condition known as insulin resistance. This is where the body no longer responds to the insulin needed to help the body use sugar and glucose as fuel on the cellular level.

So what can we do to help our-self if we have Type 2 diabetes or are one of the many who at risk of getting Type 2 diabetes. I appreciate that this is easier said than done, but the first thing we need to do is lose that excess weight. This is rarely easy or fun for the average person. It's worth re-suggesting do some exercise. Find some activity that you enjoy. I like to try to walk as fast as I can each time I go out. It is suggested to do whatever it takes to get up and get moving each and every day. Believe me that can be a struggle on its own. However, remember why you want to get healthy in the first place.

Finally, watch what you eat. There are strict dietary requirements for those of us who are diabetic .Learn to live within those limits in order to live and enjoy life to the fullest you can. Nowadays there are all kinds of foods available for us with diabetes. . It is quite possible to live and eat quite nicely with diabetes if you stick to your plan. The most important thing about dieting with diabetes is that you never lose sight of how crucial it is to do so.
