When Double Tragedy Strikes In Burger King

Today I want to share a double tragic moment that happened during the good old days of working at Burger King.
It was a pretty normal Saturday in the restaurant. The peak hour just died down so we all had time to relax after taking endless orders and making food nonstop. I used the downtime to wipe down the tables and sweep the floor in the kitchen.
All of a sudden, I saw a crowd forming in the dining room. I walked towards it to see what happened. Turns out, an elderly woman fell on the floor and wasn't able to get back up. The ambulance arrived in less than 10 minutes to check on her and to see if her knees were ok.
However, while everyone's attention was on the whole accident, one of the workers took advantage of the situation and stole $40 from one of the cash registers. Little did she know that there were surveillance cameras on the ceiling above all the cash register spots.
Long story short, she got fired the next day.
But I didn't expect her to do something like that and neither did anyone else. Not even the managers saw it coming. She got along with everyone pretty well, plus she was still new, maybe worked less than five days.
So you have to be careful with who you bring into your business. Whether they're employees, co-founders, or even freelancers. No matter how nice and likeable they are, you never know which one of them turns out to be like the woman who got fired, steals from you when you least expect it, and runs away.
Be careful who you choose to work with. Do your due diligence.
That's why when it comes to the service business especially, it's important to build trust with your audience. The best way to do it is to get in touch with them on a regular basis. Demonstrate your knowledge to them. Let them get to know you as a person.
That's a genuine way to build trust.
